Every trip is different! Some days, we are fortunate to see a lot of wildlife, some days less. That is up to Mother Nature. However, all our guides are experienced outdoors men and women, naturalists and educators. We will have a handle on where the wildlife is on a any given day, but we can view only what is there. Most days, you can see ospreys, various breeds of herons and egrets, pelicans, and numerous species of shorebirds. Our guests also commonly see dolphins, rosette spoonbills, bald eagles, various hawks, white pelicans, owls, sea turtles, kites and black vultures. We really never know until we are there, which is part of the fun!

Please bring whatever you wish to eat or drink. We do suggest at least one to two drinks that have electrolytes such as Gatorade or Powerade. Please adhere to our “Leave No Trace” policy. Clothing should be appropriate for the season and the weather. The transport boat is open and we travel swiftly. Sun protection is always a good idea. Think hats, sun block, etc. Along the beaches, you may walk in the water or you may wish to take a bit of time on the beach by yourself. Protective footwear (please, no flip flops) with a supportive bottom to protect you from potential shell penetration that you do not mind getting wet, is a good recommendation. Bring a camera (in a plastic zip lock bag if it is not waterproof) or binoculars for easy bird watching.

Many folks wear shorts or light, fast-drying pants (like nylon fishing clothing) when on our trips. Some bring the pants from their rain suits, while others wear their swimming suits. Weather and other boating conditions can affect how wet you can get on your trip. Please dress appropriately for the weather, and keep in mind that some boat wakes can result in light to moderate splashes.

Our trips depart daily from the Goodland Boat Park. There you will find a well-maintained boat park with a double ramp, bait & tackle store & a cleaning station. The Goodland Boating Park is a 5.22 acre park on Goodland Bay. Goodland Boating Park provides direct access to the Ten Thousand Islands and to the Gulf of Mexico. Known for its excellent restaurants, Goodland is an enjoyable community to enjoy seafood and music! Address: 750 Palm Point Dr, Goodland, FL 34140

Reel Kind supplies rods, reels, baits, license, tackle, iced coolers with bottled water for our Fishing Charters. Many of our anglers prefer to bring their own tackle and we encourage you to do so. However, we do realize that traveling with fishing rods is a pain these days. So if you don’t bring your reels and tackle in your suit case, you are welcome to use our rods. Lastly, and most importantly, we provide Florida Master Naturalist Captains whom are eager to educate you for an enhanced and memorable experience!
